How to Rescind an Academic Requirement Override in Workday
This action is used to delete a completed Academic Requirement Override from a student’s Academic Progress tab. This action is accessed through the Archive tab in the advisor or administrator’s Workday Inbox. Step 1: Select the Inbox icon from the top navigation bar of the Workday homepage. Step 2: Select the Archive tab in the Workday Inbox. Select the Academic Requirement Override you wish to rescind, then select Rescind. Step 3: Describe the reason for rescinding the override in the Comments field, then select Submit. Step 4: Select View Details. Step 5: Select the Details and Process tabs to review the information. Select Done when finished. Step 6: The Academic Requirement Override has been successfully removed from the student’s Academic Progress. Experiencing an issue or need additional support? Override Academic Requirements in Workday: Waive Requirement
This article will walk a user through using the Waive Requirement Academic Override in Workday. Academic Requirements Override There are six types of Academic Requirement Overrides, all of which may be initiated by any of a student’s advisors. Assign Course to Requirement: The most commonly used of the overrides. Allows a course (already In-Progress or Completed) to be added and applied towards the requirement. Add Course: Allows a new course to be applied towards the academic requirement. Best used for courses a student has not yet enrolled in. Adjust Units: Allows the number of units on an academic requirement to be changed for a student. Adjust Course Count: Allows the number of courses needed to fulfill an academic requirement to be changed. Course Substitution: Allows a specific course to be removed from an academic requirement and replaced with a different course. Additionally, this allows a specific course to be removed without a replacement. Waive Requirement: Allows the student to no longer need the entire academic requirement. How to Apply an Academic Requirement Override in Workday Waive Requirement Allows the student to no longer need the entire academic requirement. Quick Search: Override Academic Requirement for Student Step 1: From the Workday homepage, enter Student’s Name in the search bar. Step 2: Select student’s Academics tab, then select Academic Progress. Step 3: Scroll down to the student’s Academic Requirements and select Related Actions icon next to the academic requirement you are modifying. Step 4: Select Academic Requirement located in the Actions section, then select Create Override. Step 5: On the Override Academic Requirement for Student page, select Waive Requirement, then select OK. Step 6: Use the dropdown menu to select one of the Override Reasons: Accessibility Accommodation or Other. (Stevens is not using the “Already has Competency” functionality in Workday.) Step 7: Leave any comments outlining the reason the academic requirement should be waived in the Comments box, then select Submit. Step 8: Click on the Process tab for the next steps in the process (in this example, the request routes to the student’s Faculty Advisor). Step 9: In the Faculty Advisor’s Inbox, the request can be reviewed, then select Approve. Step 10: Click on the Process tab for the final step in the process (in this example, the request routes to the Academic Advising Manager). Step 11: Academic Advising Manager reviews the request and selects Approve. The process is now complete. Step 12: The override now appears on the student’s Academic Progress tab as “Override Assigned” and the Status of the Requirement is “Waived”. Experiencing an issue or need additional support? Evaluate Academic Requirements for Student in Workday
This article will walk a user through using the Evaluate Academic Requirements for Student task in Workday. This task evaluates a student’s registrations against a specific Program of Study and its’ Academic Requirements. Quick Search: Evaluate Academic Requirements for Student Step 1: In the Global Search bar, search for and select the Evaluate Academic Requirements for Student task. Step 2: Enter a student’s name and enter a Program of Study to evaluate their registrations against. Select the OK button. Step 3: Workday will display a message informing you that the background process for this task as started. Select the Done button. Step 4: Workday will display a notification when this job has finished. Click on the notification link or navigate to your Notifications inbox and click on the job to view the results of the evaluation. Notification link: Notification inbox: Step 5: Workday will display the results of the evaluation, which uses the student’s registrations and applies courses to the previously selected Program of Study’s Academic Requirements, where applicable. Note: These results are informational only and subject to change. This task does not consider previously approved Academic Requirement Overrides as part of the evaluation. Students should talk to their advisors before making any programs changes in Workday. Step 6: Select the Done button to return to your Notification inbox. Launch an Academic Progress Evaluation in Workday
This article shows a user how to launch an Academic Progress Evaluation in Workday. Step 1: Enter the Student’s Name in the Workday search bar. Step 2: Select the Student’s Name in the Search Results. Step 3: Select Academics. Step 4: Select the Academic Progress tab. Step 5: Review the date the Program Requirements were last evaluated. Step 6: Select the Actions button. In the list of Actions, select Advising, then select Launch Academic Progress Evaluation from the dropdown menu. Step 7: Choose the student’s active Academic Record. Note: If the student has more than one Academic Record, the dropdown menu will display these options. Otherwise, the student’s Academic Record will automatically populate. Step 8: Select the Confirm checkbox, then select OK. Step 9: Select Done. Step 10: The Last Evaluated information now reflects the most recent version of Requirements. Experiencing an issue or need additional support? Review an Academic Plan in Workday
When a student submits an Academic Plan, an advisor will review it in their Inbox. An advisor can Approve, Send Back, or Deny a student’s Academic Plan. An advisor can cancel reviewing the Academic Plan and review it later. Approve an Academic Plan Step 1: Select the Inbox icon on the Workday homepage. Step 2: Select the Academic Plan Event Action. Review the details of the academic plan, then select Approve. Step 3: Review Details and Process for more information on completed actions and next steps – Select Done Send Back an Academic Plan Send back an academic plan when students need to make changes to their Academic Plan. Step 1: Select the Inbox icon on the Workday Today homepage. Step 2: Select Academic Plan Event – Review academic plan – Select Send Back Step 3: Enter the Reason the Academic Plan is being sent back, then select Submit. Note: The student’s name will already be selected in the To field. Step 4: Review Details and Process for more information on completed actions and next steps, then select Done. Deny an Academic Plan Please note: Denying an academic plan will terminate the entire business process. A new academic plan will need to be submit for approval. Step 1: Select Inbox on the Workday homepage. Step 2: Select the Academic Plan Event action, review the academic plan, and select Deny. Step 3: Enter the Reason the academic plan is being denied, then select Submit. Step 4: Review Details and Process for more information on completed actions and next steps, then select Done. Viewing Course Section Roster and Waitlist Information
This guide will walk a user through how to search for and view a course section’s roster and waitlist information. Step 1: Search for and Select Find Course Section Definitions. Step 2: From the Find Course Section Definitions report, filter the results for the desired Academic Period by typing the period information into the search box in the lefthand navigation. Step 3: Search the course for which you are seeking roster or waitlist information. Step 4: From the related actions next to the course name, select Course Section Definition and either View Roster or View Waitlist. Step 5: From the View Course Section Roster page, you will be able to view a summary of Section Details, including the section capacity, number of students registered, and the waitlist capacity. Request Unit Registration Changes for a Student in Workday
This guide will walk users through requesting an adjustment to the number of registered units associated with a student's course registrations. Step 1: Log in to Workday. Step 2: Search for a Student and Navigate to their Academics tab. Step 3: Select Current Classes from the tabs at the top. Step 4: Select Edit Registration. Step 5. In the Registration field, select the semester and then course that you would like the change the number of units for. In the Change Type select Units and then select OK. Please note: If you select Grading Basis, you will get an error message that says "Change Type of "Grading Basis" cannot be updated for this registration: The course for this registration has only one available grading basis."
