Projects: Viewing the Project Dashboard and Reports in Workday
This guide outlines how to access and navigate the Project Dashboard and related Reports within the Projects module in Workday.
The Project Dashboard provides a centralized view of project-related information including financials, progress, tasks, and key reports. It enables project managers and stakeholders to track project performance, identify issues early, and make data-driven decisions.
Project Reports and Dashboards
Step 1: From the Workday home screen, type “Projects” and click on the Projects Report.

Step 2: Alternatively, from the Workday home screen, click the Menu at the top left corner, then select Projects under the Apps tab.
Please note you may need to add Projects as a favorite to your menu if it is not there already.

Step 3: Click on the gear button for “Find Projects” on the top left of the dashboard, then click “Edit Settings”.

Select All Projects from the Projects and Project Hierarchies dropdown menu and select the Include Subordinate Project Hierarchies checkbox.

Repeat the same step for the Project Status by Project Hierarchy section in the top middle of the dashboard.

Now you should have all the projects you have access to showing up on your dashboard.
Step 4: The dashboard will display a list of all your projects, allowing PMs to filter by hierarchy and status.
Please note that only the projects that PMs have access to will display.
You can click on these individual projects to access them.

Step 5: Click each individual project for more detail.

Step 6: Click on the Financials tab, then Transaction Details to see the transactions on the project.
Please note that you can filter those details by any column and download them to Excel by clicking the Excel button on the top left.

Step 7: Access Find Reports from the Dashboard. Use the dashboard links to open common reports like:
-
Project Budget vs. Actuals – Comparison of budgeted vs. incurred costs. Can click on the amounts in the report for details of those transactions.
