Installing Creo
Creo is a 3D CAD software used for product design and development. It offers a range of tools for creating and editing 3D models, assemblies, and drawings, as well as simulation, analysis, and documentation. Creo is used by engineers, designers, and manufacturers in various industries, such as aerospace, automotive, and consumer goods.
Note: To access SolidWorks off campus you must connect to the Stevens VPN first.
Available for Windows only. If you are a Mac or Linux user, please log into https://stevens.apporto.com/ to utilize this software.
Step 1: Go to https://software.stevens.edu and click on the Windows Software header title. Scroll down and select the CREO folder, check the box next to the Creo version instructed by your professor, and click Download
Step 2: A .zip file will be downloaded, before you can install Creo you will have to unzip your files. You can use any tool that you prefer to unzip files (winrar, 7zip, etc.). This tutorial shows how to use the tools that are built into Windows 10. Go to your Downloads folder and find the .zip file that you downloaded, the name will be of the form Onedrive_YEAR-MONTH-DAY.zip. Double click the .zip file
Step 3: Click Extract all
Step 4: Make note of where you're extracting to. By default it will extract to the same folder that the .zip file is in. Click Extract
Step 5: There should now be a regular folder (not a .zip) in your Downloads folder
Step 6: In your new folder, go into the Creo folder, finally go into the 64 bit folder. Find and double click setup.exe to start the installation
Step 7: The installer will open. Click Next
Step 8: Check the box next to I accept and click Next
Step 9: Click Creo Elements/Pro & Creo Elements/Pro Mechanica
Step 10: Make sure you enable Creo Elements/Pro Mechanica. Select Install all sub-features
Note: If you don't do this you won't be able to complete some of the labs late in the course.
Step 11: Click Next
Step 12: Make sure English is selected and click Next
Step 13: Click Add
Step 14: Enter lm3server.campus.stevens-tech.edu under Hostname and 7788 under Port and click OK
Step 15: Click Next
Step 16: Leave the default Preferences and click Next
Step 17: Make sure Install Creo Thumnail viewer and Install Creo Elements/View Express boxes are checked and click Next
Step 18: Click Install. Creo will now be successfully installed on your machine
